The APA features some of the strongest powerlifters on the planet including Gary Heisey who performed a historical all time deadlift record of 925 pounds.  Heiseys record stayed in the books longer than any other "all time" deadlift in the history of our sport.  Our International arm is the WPA and some of our events have taken place in Germany, England, Yugoslavia, Singapore, Jamaica, Canada and other countries. Our Canadian Sister federation (CPA) is very active and APA lifters may participate in most Canadian meets and vice-versa.

We are commonly asked for information about meets such as location, date etc, or rules etc. Please take advantage of our website and explore it.  Our rulebook is also online for all to read and learn our rules, equipment regulations etc. We also have an online referee exam available. One of the best ways of finding information and getting questions answered fast is to join our forum.  Most of our state chairpersons and referee's are members of the forum and they can give you fast answers to many questions.

Please remember...all events have a registration deadline. If you fail to register by that date, you will be subject to a late fee! It pays to pre-register!
Entry forms and online meet payment methods can be found at http://www.apa-wpa.com/entryforms.htm

Those who would like to take the referee exam and become a referee can now take the new test online. Click here for link to referee exam.
